The dog day heroes from Brooklyn are back after their 2011 buzz-worthy EP, What a Pleasure, and this time, they offer us back-to-back tracks from their forthcoming 7” release. Beach Fossils’ early surprises were successively previewed online, and are currently causing a heavy rouse of anticipation for their upcoming full-length album, which according to reports, will be done by this year.

One of the bands I just can’t stop listening to lately is Geographer. I remember hearing the single Kites from their Animal Shapes EP for the first time. I found myself immediately drawn to the odd mix of the driving synth (almost cheery, even), the rich-sounding cello, and lead singer Mike Deni’s powerful, melancholic voice.
