Mistaken For Strangers, an intimate and hilarious film about GRAMMY® nominated rock band The National, sets its theatrical release on March 25, 2014 at the Shrine Auditorium. The gala event will of course include a full concert by the band.
The film was shot when The National were set to embark on the biggest tour of their career. Lead singer Matt Berninger is the only member without a sibling in the band so he invited his metalhead younger brother, Tom, to join as roadie. “Much to Matt’s chagrin, Tom soon began to ignore his roadie duties in order to make an unsanctioned documentary about the band. Tom’s camera captures his journey as he finds himself living in Matt’s shadow and acting out in a way only a little brother can-drinking, complaining, and struggling to balance his ambition with his responsibilities.”
