Watch: “Play It Right” by Sylvan Esso

There’s nothing I love more than an electropop song that has every element in place – great singing, catchy beats, and infectiously dancy. When singer-songwriter Amelia Meath had first written “Play It Right”, it was a folk song for her trio Mountain Man. Then she met electronic producer Nick Sanborn aka Made of Oak and a partnership now known as Sylvan Esso emerged. It was an ideal music match from the get go.

Next week, their self-titled debut LP will be out via Partisan Records. Listen to the album in full now on NPR and pre-order it here. They’re opening for tUnE-yArDs at The Fonda on June 5. Get your tickets here.

Some of my favorite things are beef jerky, bacon, Benedict Cumberbatch, pistachios (aka the nut of the gods), my husband's face, and coffee.
