Expertly melding synth pop with hip hop beats, rock duo Phantogram made all the right moves throughout their fantastic set at the Fox Theater in Pomona. Named after an optical illusion, the band really impressed us with their production values. The band employed several strategically placed mirrors around the stage causing awesome geometric light displays and almost laser-like effects throughout the show. In fact, the highlight of the show wasn’t the excellent “Black Out Days” or “Fall In Love” – it was an ethereal performance of “Bill Murray” featuring singer Sarah Barthel wearing a cape fitted with small mirrors which reflected white light onto the audience. In that moment, the show felt truly epic.
