Live Review: Son Lux at The Roxy Theatre 9/19/14

For his first Los Angeles headlining show, New York artist Ryan Lott aka Son Lux filled legendary Hollywood club The Roxy with his signature, cathedral-filling widescreen electronic compositions. Taking from primarily his standout 2013 LP Lanterns, his magnetic presence was felt in the crowd’s wide-eyed silence whilst the band performed. When given the spotlight of a headlining tour, Son Lux proved to be a band of intricate detail that if you turn your senses away for just a moment, you will see something wholly breath-taking and body-moving. Be sure to check out his work in the supergroup Sisyphus as well featuring Sufjan Stevens and rapper Serengeti – on their self-titled debut released back in March for a kookier side of Son Lux’s sonic explorations.
