Live Review: Lemuria, Into It. Over It., and Steppe People at The Constellation Room 12/2/14

For some Southern Californians, the rain was almost cause for canceling plans to see Lemuria. “For those of you in LA on the fence about going to the show because of rain, remember we’re from Buffalo and came to you thru 8 FEET OF SNOW,” they tweeted, urging fans not to let a little water on the road foil their plans to go see the Buffalo trio. Along with them was Into It. Over It. and Steppe People.

This tour brought a bit of a treat, as Evan Weiss aka Into It Over It played his first batch of solo acoustic performances for years. Unfortunately, Weiss was competing with the intense bass coming from the hip hop show in the adjacent Observatory. Even so, Weiss shook it off with his endearing chuckle and powered through to bring his low key versions of songs like “Spinning Thread” and a touching rendition of “The Shaking of Leaves” to round out the set.

From Los Angeles, Steppe People brought some classic rock guitar licks with an indie pop edge.
