Watch: “Kim’s Caravan” by Courtney Barnett

The awesome Australian singer-songwriter Courtney Barnett released this rather dark and gloomy music video for her single “Kim’s Caravan” off her record Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit. According to Barnett, this song is “an apocalyptic tale of our world painted black with oil and soot, painted red with blood and greed. The song was born when blessed with time to reflect, feeling the frustration and helplessness of the destruction of my environment and the litter of humans within it.”

The video gorgeously shot by director Bec Kingma and it gets especially intense around the part where she repeatedly sings the line, “Take what you want from me.” I can’t get enough of her. The track will be released as a 12″ for Record Store Day with a John Cale cover as a B-side.

She plays two sold out shows at The Roxy Theatre on May 30th and 31st with Chastity Belt and Darren Helson.

Some of my favorite things are beef jerky, bacon, Benedict Cumberbatch, pistachios (aka the nut of the gods), my husband's face, and coffee.
