Shannon and the Clams headlined a great set to an energetic crowd at the El Rey in support of their new album Gone By The Dawn. The show started with another Bay Area band, Cool Ghouls, who rocked the opening set. After their first song got people’s attention, the crowd started moving towards the stage. The Memories, from Portland, were on next and their set was a lot of fun. The band’s goofy bravado vibe and hilarious song lyrics were a pleasant surprise. Shannon and the Clams finished out the night with a set that was some high speed fun. The crowd’s energy really came through during their set. Anyone who wasn’t crowd surfing or moshing was most definitely dancing.
